I think I would center the fireplace on the wall unless you need to offset to accomodate a large t.v. Good luck!

Do you need a FP ? IMO that wall would be nicwith just a TV some storage and a bit of display since no matter where you put the FP it will be off since you need enough space for the TV , BTWmeasurements clearly marked are always something we need

Yes- i wouod like the FP to be the focus of the family room & I love decorating the mantle for every holiday. I dont have exact measurements as the builder would not give me any…

Built in’s will limit the size of the TV you want - might not be an issue now, but sometime down the road when the bigger TV’s are so much better that what’s out there now. Remember when entertainment centers were all the rage? I don’t know if you could get anything bigger than like a 50” TV in there - probably why you don’t see them so often now.

The only time you will notice (if at all) that the fireplace it’s not lined up with your island will be if you place yourself directly in the center of your of the island and look toward the fireplace or stand directly in front of the fireplace and look towards the island. Any other place you stand, it will not look centered because you’ll be standing off center anyway. If you lined up your fireplace with the island, doing that would limit your furniture arrangement. You obviously need a walkway on the left going into your master bedroom and so need that area free and clear. However, if you moved the fireplace to be centered with the island, all your furniture would end up being pushed over towards the walkway which would make that area more cluttered and squished.
