ProVia Door for New Construction?

I’ve been reading old posts looking for recommendations for fiberglass entry doors. There are a lot of recommendations for ProVia, but all of their literature and photos seem to talk about replacement doors. Do people use ProVia for new construction? It doesn’t seem like any of the lumber yards carry them. Any recommendations for other brands? ThermaTru can’t put SDLs on the door style I want and I’m told the Jeld-Wen door is the same quality as Therma Tru, but more expensive and longer lead time. Thanks for any advice you have!

Provia is a solid choice for new construction, hands down one of the best fiberglass doors made.

Hi, we used Provia door in new construction. We purchased trough small store in NJ who I guess is their dealer.

I guess, You could give Provia a call and ask them about dealers in your area. We used Provia as front main door, backyard door, and door from home to garage ( white on the left side on the last picure).

@J Sk- Is that an 8 foot front door? That is what we are looking at as well. Have you been happy with it? It looks like you were able to match the door frame color to the door, is that right? I was playing with the Visualizer and it didn’t seem like I could have a stain color on the outside. (Sorry for all of the questions!)

Yes, 8 ft tall front door. Coffee bean color ( I believe Signet, fiberglass mimicking cherry wood). Yes, you can have stain color on both sides, interior/exterior. We like how the door looks and operates, but we are still building ( the door was installed year ago and has been used since and so far no problems).

ProVia makes a really awesome product. Perfect for both new & old construction. I like their Fusion frame. They are somewhat limited in style for the more contemporary design style, but if you find something you like you won't be disappointed. If going woodgrain use the Embarq or Signet. The Heritage fiberglass & stained steel finishes don't look very realistic. For smooth finish I like all grades depending on budget & style needs.

Lead times (like any company) are brutal. Plan early!

ThermaTru is ok, but nothing like a Provia. It's worth driving some distance for a Provia if not available nearby.

Odd that you aren't finding them at supply houses, all of them carry Provia in my area.

As MWM stated, its a great door. Lead times are long, but the same(or similar) can be said for most manufacturers these days.

As far as other choices, HomeGuard is very good, HMI, and then Thermatru probably in the next group after that. I wouldn't consider Jeldwen personally.
