I have Princess Anne, but I'll have to go out and check the thickness of the leaves. She's planted among a few other Austins and mostly what I notice is black spot on them all, lol.

Hopefully someone else has actually noticed and can help sooner.

Don't take my comment as an indictment against Princess Anne in particular. ALL Austins are prone to BS here, some more so, some less. But they are among the few that I absolutely must spray, which I prefer not to do. But the six or seven I still grow I wouldn't be without, BS or not.

Yes, bs is an annoyance but not a total disqualifier, especially if the rose has other qualities that make her apt to survive on the roof!

I spray with neem every two weeks and copper or sulphur a few times a year, not just the roses but the whole garden, so hopefully that will help keep bs and other fungal diseases at bay. I wish I didn't have to, but in a city, the pigeons bring all kinds of bacterial/fungal nasties to the roof, and I have to prevent as much as I can. I lost four plants to fire blight this year so I am extra vigilant now.

If Princess Anne really does have the thicker leaves DA claims I would give her a try anyway to see if that helps with dealing with the wind and heat.
