I think you need curtains on those doors. Can’t think of a better option.

I have seen these types of sliders have motorized blinds that recess into the ceiling so they disappear when you arn’t using them.

Im really drawn to your pendants lol On our lanai doors we are doing Hunter Douglass Vertiglides. the stack neatly and compactly to the side with many options from solar to blackout.

Are the leaves going to drop on the bushes outside your lanai? Do you have neighbors above you that can see all the way into your home (through your lanai) If those are the case, then perhaps you need something on your sliders - otherwise, I’d leave them without treatments

Im in a rental now overlooking a fairway, its pretty private and we never close the blinds.When we go away, we do close them tho.

Your counters are so beautiful too. Fantastic taste. we are winding up our build. We have 2-8‘ and a 24‘ slider to cover also. We went with the vertiglides, mounted on the inside to keep it neat and contemporary. We also priced out automatic rollers for the large door. I felt like with the roller it was all or nothing in terms of privacy, and with the vertiglides i can adjust the opening.

Thank you! The ones we are considering are Dual Blinds.. they are motorized and have a cassette at the top. I also saw Sheers that have the blinds in them. Just not sure which way to go. There is a biking trail behind our house but there are tons of trees/bushes back there. You can see in from certain vantage points.

What about strategic landscaping around your lanai?

It's my understanding that the silhouette blinds are typically left down, and the blinds are open/closed inside of them for privacy & light control. I would not use those on blinds you want open/closed often.

We are doing fabric woven shades in a slightly patterned white on our slider (hunter douglas "designer roller shades"). You would need one for each section of door, I think. You may be able to motorize but they might be too heavy.

You could go with curtains, but they will always be visible and you can only push them aside, not roll them out of the way. Depends on the overall look you're going for.

Another vote for the Hunter Douglas Vertiglide or similar by other manufacturers. My parents have used them in 2 houses and they work well. We are probably going to use them in the bonus/TV room with two sets of sliders.

Thanks everyone for the input! I've had 2 consultations and right now we are leaning toward the Banded shades. I will admit I loved the Luminette Sheers but we didn't think they would be the right fit for that living room space. So just waiting on the quote from the 2nd place and then I guess we will make some decisions. I do appreciate your input!

@Judy Wear We got them installed on Friday. They are really nice and I'm very happy with them. We went with a light gray for the main living area and 2 of the bedrooms. A great choice which complimented our paint colors. We did a bright white for the office and a darker blue/gray for our master bedroom. Here is a few photos of the main living area, our master and the office. We haven't moved in officially ([permanently) yet so it's still a work in progress. Let me know if you have questions about them.

Lisa…love the look, very modern with many features. What exactly did you use for your sliding door? Was it 2 panels to cover your door or was it one large one? At my house in PA, I used the the zebra roller shades, and received so many compliments. We used the light filtering shades except for the bedrooms. In the bedrooms we used the corded black out shades. Here in FL, for our sliding glass doors I was, leaning more towards a look similar to Hunter Douglas vertical glide. So many different options, but really like yours. Enjoy!

We used two panels for the master bedroom slider. Our Lanai window also had individual panels so there is a total of 4. They are very nice and do a great job with privacy and letting light in when we want it. Where are you in Florida? These blinds are owned by Hunter Douglas but a little less expensive. I can find out the name if you are interested.

@Judy Wear The brand is called Alta. They are part of the HD family. A little less expensive like I said. Now we have all the blinds in the house automated so I can open/close them with either a remote or the app (which I haven't done yet). We are very happy with how they look and how they are designed to work but there are a few bugs we are working out. I guess that's always the case when things are technology based! I just didn't want a pull cord or wand. Both of those are options as well. If I could have, I would have done the HD Luminette series on my slider doors leading out to the Lanai but it wasn't an option due to space issues.

What is the name of your countertops? Quartzite? Gorgeous!
