Purchased a new home in CO (after 24 years in AK) and will move in early December. Need to purchase a couch and one or two chairs for living room (LR). Space is smaller and need to have walkway to kitchen and hallway to bedrooms. We are retired and it is just the two of us; however want to be able to fit/seat up to six should our children and significant others ever come visit all at once. Only LR furniture moved is a TV stand, one accent chair, set of nesting tables and a small triangle side table. Hope to use in space but don't have to. Pictures are from previous owners who have TV above fireplace. Wall color in person reads more gray than blue in photos but it may change anyway once we have lived there for a few months (I'm a warm color person). We hope to put TV to left of fireplace on wall vs. over FP. Looking for furniture size and placement in room ideas. From Houzz research done think a couch and chairs is better (more flexible) than sectional. FYI there is a finished basement/ TV room that we will furnish later. Thanks in advance for any advice.
