track lighting installation question

Can LED track lighting be installed “upside down” along the top of an exposed beam/truss in a vaulted ceiling? When I search, everything I find is bottom or side mounted, so I’m wondering if having the channel open to dust, etc is a problem and just isn’t done.

If the goal is to illuminate the ceiling and you don't care about having adjustable heads, you could use LED strip (tape) lights with or without a channel. Various tape lights are dimmable, allow you to change the (white) color temperature, and even the color. Strip light sections can be linked together with cables to allow one power source and control.
