That might be a chippy and crack-prone material (some stones are hard to work with).

HOWEVER any repairs should be hard to spot. The repairs you show are not at all good.

You don't let the grinder slam into the stone when you're drilling faucet holes. It ain't all that. A little thin super glue may be coaxed into the cracks before they become contaminated. Contaminated cracks turn black.

If the chip is at the kitchen sink, you can have an apron sink retrofitted. That's expensive, but it's by far the best repair.

Thank you. We already purchased the sink so that isn't an option. They did put glue in the faucet cracks. It breaks my heart after waiting 35 years to redo my kitchen and then spending 6,000 on the stone alone that this is what the outcome is. I have yet to pay the installer and won't be doing that until at least the crack on the sink is repaired.

I was thinking maybe they could shave off a half inch in the front which would shorten the bar on the other side but that might not be doable. The installer isn't getting back to me so I have not been offered nor offered any solutions.

Thought I would update this. Daltile (where the quartzite was purchased) and the installer were here yesterday. The installer tried to say the stone had flaws and that caused the issue but Daltile said there was no evidence of this. They are working together to replace the slabs. I hate to see the waste this has caused (not to mention the amount of time this is taking). The installer has a good reputation with Daltile so we are hoping for the best.

I am worried a bit about my new cabinets and sinks having to go through the removal process. Fingers crossed. Any advice is appreciated.
