It's not in broad commerce. A Viru Viraraghavan modern Tea Rose . . . The only listed source right now is Angel Gardens.

But it is in my mind that exhibitors would eat this up, as it could be shown in the Victorian Rose class, where it should excel.

You could eat off the foliage.

I looked at Angel Gardens' current list and this was not on it. I also looked at Roses Unlimited, who carrries some of the Viru roses. Not there either, unfortunately.

HMF says this rose grows 4' x 4'. Does anyone grow it in a warm climate, and have a BUSH shot of it which they could post on here or on HMF (so far, single bloom pics are all I could find)? Since both Reve d'Or and rosa gigantica are in its immediate heritage, I am guessing that it would grow WAY larger in my climate. Jeri - do you know if Viru has any information about how big it gets in India, where it was hybridized? I want to get it, but none of my tea roses stay that small, let alone one with those ancestors.

Jackie, at this point, I think only Viru and Girija would know, but I could ask. The two young plants I have are budded on Fortuniana, so my experience may not be relevant to that of people growing it own-root. That said, its performance to date indicates that it will be upright and taller than wider. It also seems that it will be a prolific bloomer, quick to repeat. And the foliage

is a delight at every stage beginning dark red, and slowly darkening through Olive to dark green.
