I'm on the coast, so used to them in winter. We have five right now which is pretty typical for our yard. How committed are you to your bird, can you keep a thawed feeder in place to help her through winter? DH brings feeders in after dark and puts them back about a half hour before daylight when we have overnight freezes forecast.....:)

This is what I did in 2019. I have videos of her at the feeder when it was 5F!

Eventually it got to this:

It was 5F that morning, the lowest I was all winter. I first discovered her in early November of 2018, when she was feeding on a fuchsia that hadn't frosted yet. That's when I put the feeder back out, but she was very scarce after that and I gave up. But I left the feeder out, and one day in January I saw her drilling into the frozen nectar. She was a constant presence the rest of the winter. I don't think this new one is the same bird, but who knows? The old one was very brave, this new one is a lot more shy. She won't let me get close to the feeder!
