TV mount issue, help!

I have a pull down, swivel mount purchased and ready to hold my Samsung 65" LED TV above my mantle. I've been agonizing over how to run the cables and TV wires. There's a wood storage box you can see pictured, that's where I was thinking about running most of it but the main issue is the dumb TV power cord which is only 5 ft long. My dad was saying 20 to 25 ft would work best... mind you I need some slack for when the TV is in the pulled down position. Alas, I cannot find a long cord compatible with my TV and I was reading that extension cords should not be used as a permanent solution. What to do?! I imagine I'm not the only one who has encountered such an issue...
Any ideas are so very appreciated!!

All of this should have been considered BEFORE you painted the fireplace, If you want a good wire free look? You need a contractor, an electrician, a masonry drill, masonry drill, a lot of HDMI cable, an IR repeater.

Failing all that? A trim left and right of the hearth, Paint it wall color, and run a channel for cords and you still need HDMI cable and an ir repeater if you use cable box.

Better than all of this agony? show the ENTIRE room, and find another spot for the tv and any furniture re arrange.: )

Show the ENTIRE room in pics added to a comment box

We need to see the whole space but right now I would say the TV will be too high so the pull down mount is a must and I agree all of this should have beedn planned long before now.Is that a real wood burning FP?

    Fireplace is woodburning.

I'm leaving the cable box out and visible, so would I still need the IR repeater? I'm not hiding anything behind walls, just tucking wires cleanly along the mantle and down to outlets.

I'm trying to figure out the TV power cord, first and foremost since it's too short…..

You are plugging in the cable box where? On the mantel? How? The power to the tv ...........

It appears you have room left of the patio doors for a tv. Put it there, add ART over the mantel. Get a bracket with an arm ........., put it over a console.

If you wanted a good look? The answer was better forethought....... and a furred out fireplace. Meaning drywall at the least, or a total re do. A contractor, an electrician....an audio video guy.... There is no messing around with extension cords........the power cord is what it is and that is that. Don't plan to tip it forward. It looks like hell anyway. If you can't look up at t? Pick a new location. Your head swivels..it is not necessary to be staring at both features simultaneously. the fire will STILL be in the room , to be enjoyed. Move on. Or go backward. and run the wiring.

A wood burning fireplace will fry your TV, and other electronics. Forget this location. Move on to it being somewhere else.

It won't "fry" the tv. The mantel stops that/diverts heat past the tv.. It just isn't the best location,

Put it left of the deck exit, or right......whichever allows more room.

And maybe paint those green walls To a nice navy....something : )

Tv and fire.......need NOT dictate one over the other UNLESS no possible other locale

I've decided to put it to the left of the slider. Not what I intended but a less "headachey" option...
    thank you

Art over the mantel will look better,, and view of the tv? A LOT better.

Call the electrician. this can be one with NO VISIBLE CORDS

Is the TV power cord the detachable type or is it built into the TV? If the former, you can get longer cables up to 10 or sometimes even 15 feet from computer stores or off Amazon.
