Help! There's a gap between shower wall and drywall (Picture linked)

What can be done?
I paid extra to have the insulation replaced and they started on the chicken wire before telling me that one of the 3 alcove walls had been left as is because it was "perfectly good".
Wall was not level and now I have lost shower space and the wall looks crooked.
Can they make the wall appear straight or is this a tear-down job?

It's a mud job.

I hope that means it'll be water tight.

I thought I could trust these guys, but they should have brought the unlevel wall to my attention before going forward.
