The only thing missing is a headboard. Maybe you have a short one, but all I see are pillows leaning against the window. There is no room for anything else. The small plants are impractical and therefore excessive. They won't do well here no matter how shade tolerant they are. If this is a guest room, add an alarm clock to one of the nightstands.

Try stacking the pillows and not leaning them. Dark color on bottom. Add art or mirrors behind lamps. Use reading lamps on nightstands. Repeat dark color with lamps and some stools or bench at foot of bed. Add stack of books to bottom shelf of nightstands to ground the space more. Pick simple art. Audubon prints are always nice. Here is little mock up of these ideas.

I couldn’t stack your pillows in this mock up but kind of like these. Trick is to repeat your dark color (black? Or navy?) 3 times in the room. For example, pillows bench and lamps.

I'd like to see what the adjacent walls are like, esp. the curtains and how they're hung more neat and trim.

Headboard for sure. I would bring a little glamour with nice chandelier, may be mirrors on a side and rug.

What about breaking up the symmetry just a little bit? Maybe one nightstand has a larger framed picture. One nightstand has a larger plant, and then the small picture or a pretty jewelry box? A little bit of aysmmetry would add some personality and interest to the room. Love Flo's book stacks and benches too. Benches at the foot of the bed are pretty and super useful.

    Its missing texture.

I think it is missing contrast. It is a lovely room. Just needs a couple of tweaks. My eyes go straight the the blinds. Maybe get a sheer curtain to hide them? Or maybe when they are pulled up or open it might change the look?

Here are a couple of images. There are not perfect but help with ideas.

Thankyou so very very much everyone! I will definately put up the headboard and add more texture ..as for contrasts, i am afraid because room is only 12 x 12 and was trying to make it look bigger and brighter staying with neutral colours..

I like your monochromatic color scheme - it's soothing and calm. I would stick with the neutral blanket, not the alternate dark one.

As others mentioned, a headboard is needed to keep pillows from damaging the window treatment. You might want to lower the painting so that it is at eye level when viewed from the bed.

Does the curtain on the left hide a closet?

    Yes..

I love your room just as it was originally. If you can live without the fan, maybe add a chandelier as Celery shows. If you read in bed, add a low headboard otherwise I don't think you absolutely need it. I wouldn't add any other furniture - the room is too small. I would remove flowers on one of the night stands -- a bit too much symmetry. Maybe flowers on one side and a photo on the other. Lovely space!

It looks great! You could still have the shears AND the curtains. Lovely room!

Fluffy blanket on bed. It looks a little flat. :) sheers look nice! Good job!

The first thing I noticed was the tables looming over the bed. They should arrive at mattress height. Perhaps adding a topper to the mattress could make up the difference. The lamps are too tall. The bottom of the shade should be level with your chin when sitting in a reading position in the bed. The lamp should also be close enough to turn off from the bed. You can also have them made into "touch" lamps if they have some metal on them. Center art 5' above the floor. I would go more neutral instead of the dark pillows. Add a fur throw for additional texture in the winter.

If you go with high headboard then lamps height will be more balanced.

I like the room, and I think some of the "glam it up" suggestions here would make it "too much". Given its small dimensions, I like the monotone color scheme, though I agree with those who say, "Add texture".

    Changes I'd consider:

    - The lamps are pretty far from the bed. Can you reach them comfortably? Maybe flip-flop them with the small plants.

    - I always have books, hand lotion, etc. by my bed. Since your side tables are open underneath, I'd consider adding a basket to keep these things from looking messy.

    - I'd think you'd need an alarm clock.

    - I don't like to step out of a warm bed onto a cold floor. I'd like to see a rug for the sleeper's toes.

I love your neutrals! Calm and elegant. I think if you take the suggestions on headboard, texture, and lamp height, your room will look amazing.

Headboard i have is white , just waiting for my husband to attach it to the bed.I will go for a neutral ( taupe of latte ) colour over sized pillows and sheepskin rugs on a side of a bed. I know the lamps are bit tall but i dont have any room on the wall abave them so they sort of filing the space.(i dont want to over do it because its a small room. Again , thank you so much for all sugestions ! Hopefully my next photo will be ''done deal . Happy Holidays!

P.S. Please excuse my misspeling ...

I love the changes with the three Euroshams that matches the throw at the end of the bed and small pillow above the other two pills. I love the headboard also. I love the small white rug also. I love the lamps added flowers and the overall new look.

The neutral palette is very nice, but it lacks "Oomph" that a few spots of color can bring. The nice part about color and texture in pillows and throws is that they can be changed out with the seasons.
