We are planning to replace an OTR microwave with a 30" under-cabinet range hood ducted straight up through the roof. To minimize changes to the existing cabinets, we are thinking of a range hood that is in the 5-7" high range. One option is the Broan Elite Alta 4, which is only 5" high (500 CFM). Another is the Victory Heavy Duty Under Cabinet Range Hood - PS17-30, which is 7" high (900 CFM). Does anyone have experience with either of these two models, or can suggest another slimline under-cabinet range hood? I'm a little nervous that the lower-profile hoods don't have a big enough containment area to handle our frequent stir-frying, and so would love to hear others' experiences. Thanks.
