Casings with texture

Hi! Could you help me understand what causes the lines on the casings/baseboards and how to make smooth? There are brand new - pine/solid wood

Is it finger-jointed pre-primed material? It just needed some sanding and touchup before it was installed.

Likely because of insufficient prep/ sanding before painting & installing. My screen resolution isn't the greatest--older laptop--but looks like planer marks from when the boards were milled.

Thank you. Unfortunately, they are already painted/installed. Any suggestions on how to fix the issue now?

They need to be sanded very well, and reprimed and then repainted.
