Aprilaire 560 - Help needed

Hi ,
We are new to the whole house humidifier system. The current home has this Aprilaire 560 set up, indicating how to turn on/off.
Apart from turning it to the required Winter position, is there any maintenance such as filters, cleaning that it required at the start of the season ? Is there any other control to turn it on ?
