Dining room makeover

Here is my dining . I got rid of the ugly mango colored paint. Got panels on the walls. Got canned lights and my favorite RH chandeliers.

i will have to redo the panelling as the panels will not accommodate art work or mirror at eye level.

the things that are staying for sure are:

1. dining table

2. buffet table

3. chandeliers

I sm thinking of one of these mirrors to go above the buffet table .

after:

the ceiling is 9 feet, buffet is 72 inches wide.

other options i have in mind are arched mirrors.

please give your opinion if any of these mirrors would go well. If not, which shape do you think would go well? round, square or rectangular ( if rectangular, portrait or landscape)

thinking plain gold may not go well unless its a dull gold . maybe silvery gold?

I was going to put a mirror in my dining room (saw an inspiration picture on Houzz), but someone else posted a question on this forum about the same thing and a Pro said she didn't recommend mirrors in dining rooms because no one wants to see themselves chewing. I thought that was a good point and bought art instead. :-)

As for having two chandeliers over a dining table, I am not a fan of the look. The one you chose has a lot of bulbs. Wouldn't one provide enough light? Maybe the pros can weigh in on this. I know it's done sometimes, but those are large fixtures. Is the scale right?

First of all - beautiful!! Love the table!!!
I think art would work better than mirrors here.
But if you go with mirrors I’d do st very simple. Not so much texture. And a brassy gold. Arched would be nice.

The table is 11 feet by 4.5 feet so one 33 inch chandelier was certainly not enough lightwise or design wise.

i had considered art too but i want art on the opposite wall too so that will be too much. I dont think mirror is that big an issue for people. The view in front of them will really be the person on the opposite chair.

Your home is gorgeous! Maybe one of these on the large wall would add some texture and contrast to tie in your neutrals and warm browns/tans. :)

I agree about removing the panels. I would also add crown molding.
