I get what you are describing when I use a phone to do the search, but on a desk top I get the option to just search the roses forums

My experience is as Brandon's. I always use the laptop and NEVER the phone.

Beginning a few months ago, I stopped being able to search within forums from my PC, phone or the mobile app. Around that time, I saw someone on here advised that you can search by modifying the URL in the address bar of your browser.

For example, if I were looking for posts in the "Antique Roses" forum related to "Rose du Roi", I would use add "/antique-roses/query/rose-du-roi" to the end of the https://www.houzz.com/discussions URL.

The resulting URL would look like this: https://www.houzz.com/discussions/antique-roses/query/rose-du-roi

It's just a work-around, but it does the trick!

Thank you all. At first I assumed it was because I tried some queries using my phone, but was surprised when repeating the search on my laptop didn't resolve it.

I always have to use Google to find it in the forum. It's never worked for me, the search option here. But Also include houzz in my search on google, it yields more results. This is how I Input it in Google. For example: Marie Pavie Rose Garden web/houzz, that yields more results than just Marie Pavie rose. Ir if I want hmf then I put help me find behind the rose. Hope I explained it well.

"Search" here is next to useless.

Instead, go to Google, and specify this site, plus your search term. If its a multi-word name, then put it in double quotes, like so:

site:www.houzz.com "Rose de Rescht"

Always include site:www.houzz.com This will get you more specific references to the exact subject.

Google is the best way to search on lots of sites, not just Houzz. I just type “Houzz rose search-term”

Also using quotes around a set of words in the Google search box will keep those words together. For example if you want to find information on the rose called Rural England then put quotes around it “Rural England” then the word rose without quotes or Google will find lots of pages with the words England and words rural found separately but not necessarily together. But you do want the word rose in the search box too otherwise rural England could bring up lots of pages that have nothing to do with roses, but not necessarily inside the quotes or it will only find pages with the words in the exact order as you put inside the quotes.

Houzz isn't satisfied if they're not ruining something else. Why can't they leave a good thing alone !
