Nobody responded so I ordered a 'Nuccio's Gem'!

I have 'nuccio's pearl' and 'jewel' but neither produce very large flowers. also, i did not know they were more cold tolerant than others.

after a couple of days of temperatures reaching 83 degrees, i found all of these in the yard yesterday. the large, white one on the right side is 'julia france' and i noticed it in the front woods from the window so i went to cut some during breaks in the rains. it dropped down to 34 last night but is predicted to do down to 29 in a few days. all of the open ones will be ruined by the freezing temps. most of these are japonicas that should not bloom until late winter/early spring.

the large red doubles are 'kramers supreme', the formal double white/pink up front is 'nuccios pearl' and the three open form singles are simply a seedling that i grew. can't recall the name of the variegated one.

david, the one you ordered looks very similar to one i used to have named 'white-by-the-gate', almost identical.

'mabel bryan' is the variegated one in the middle.
