Wool rug darkened during cleaning

I just had my wool rug professionally cleaned and it looks much worse! it appears darker in some areas. The rug is only 2 years old and was not discolored like this prior to cleaning. Any ideas or suggestions on why this happened and how to fix it? thanks!
