Hoya Rangsan question

My hoya Rangsan has 7 peduncles but no new growth. Not sure what’s going on.

Wait are you complaining or bragging? Haha. Isn't this the dream, to have all those peduncles? My rangsan hasn't grown at all either. I'm just happy it's still alive!

Ha! I am concerned bc I read somwhere that when I hoya sends out tons of peduncles it is dying and trying to survive. Wonder if that’s true? Ugh

I don't think that's true at all. I mean, I see the theory that it's trying to produce seeds to carry on its legacy. But I have seen plenty of hoyas with many, many peduncles that don't die. So I just don't subscribe to that theory at all.

Oh and I actually have a real life example. I have a Nummularioides. It's a relatively small plant. It produces about 20 peduncles at a time. Now, I do think the peduncles on this species are a bit different in that they seem to fall off and start over but still. That plant is growing strong!

Ohhhh that’s good news and encouraging. I hope so!! I can wait to see the blooms too.

I agree with you Kyra, I have a marcophylia albo marginada that is loaded, as in maybe 20+ peduncles and it's growing well. No leaves but long vines chock full of multiple peduncles. Oddly enough, the peduncles are all dripping tons of nectar too. This plant has nectaries, so I guess the peduncles are just another for them to drop from.

Tika, you have nothing to worry about, just keeping enjoy your plant.

Um...hello. Look what I see today! What a weird coincidence, TikaLand! It looks like one may even open.

By the way, this Rangsan hasn't grown one iota since I got it. But it decides to get a peduncle.

It felt guilty with all the discussion about it's friends, so it did this for attention. Just keep talking about others and it'll bloom like crazy for you. Guaranteed 😁

    Yeah, it was jealous!

Popmama, Ohhhh that’s great! It is so cute! Mine is still waiting around 🙄

I didn't even notice it until I went to water yesterday. This means that a week ago it wasn't noticeable at all because I usually top off water once a week. Crazy! I am setting my expectations pretty low. Buds are one thing, blooms are a whole other as we all know. They blast pretty easily.

Well, it is further along than mine. Good luck! Post a pic when it opens.

I have been using orchid spray and even moved it under the grow light.
