bathroom vanity granite top doesn't match shower

Kids recently move out and I went to update their bathroom. I bought a beautiful vanity on craigslist that doesn't match the shower walls. The vanity will sit 11 inches form the shower wall. If I don't use the backsplash, do you think I could put a color on wall that would pull the two together? If so what color do you think will work? The first 3 pictures are of the vanity the rest are of the shower. You can see they look totally different in the different lightings.

That is a beautiful vanity! But it's kind of distracting since it contrasts so much with the shower. I don't think painting will do much to fix the two different busy materials. I would look to get a new top for the vanity, a subtle light solid color, maybe a creamy white that ties to the shower area. Then you might consider painting the room a more subtle white that is warmer like the shower area. The current white looks rather stark next to shower.

That’s a lovely piece of furniture. If you decide to replace the top piece you might measure the width and then find out what it would cost to enlarge the size of the bowl just a little bit.

If I end up not replacing top of vanity, any ideas of paint colors that could tie the vanity granite and shower together?

It looks as if you have even more pattern and colors in the flooring? Can you post a pic of that? I don't think any colors on that strip will look good with the counter. As others have said, I'd try to find a neutral white that might be found in both stones. You might keep your eyes out for a remnant piece of a better countertop complement to your shower.
