The caninets are china white and the back splash color is called alabaster.

When we picked out these, the back splash looks just a touch darker than the china white. This is not the case once its been installed. I am hoping once the lights are installed, I will love it.

I think it looks great -- the undercab lights will only make it look more great!

I think I understand your dilemma… you think the white vs alabaster clash?? I think they make a beautiful kitchen. It’s tone on tone and lovely!

Another vote for it looking fabulous!! Backsplash is a touch darker but the tone is the same and it totally works! Keep in mind you will also have stuff on your countertop (appliances, etc).

It is perfect. Don’t give it a second thought. Is your countertop soapstone? Please update with a picture once it is finished!

the shape/ size and gloss level is very much in keeping w your cabs/ bricks on the floor/ overall traditional feel of the space. Thats what struck me the most. It can be difficult RE shades of whites of course but this looks good . The only other tone would be picking up the red in floor which means cocoa or taupe undertone for a color but your choice really works ....I like this little bit warmer tile. Keep it.

Your kitchen is lovely!!! Well done and classic. It is quite acceptable to have various shades of white and various textures in a kitchen; it adds interest. Under cabinet lighting is a good idea: you can never have too much lighting in a kitchen.

Cabinets and backsplash are in the same family warmth-wise. If the cabs were a stark, cool white, it might not work. However, this looks lovely.

It looks good! Make sure when they install the undercabinet lights that the lights are installed toward the front of the upper cabinets, right behind the light rail, not at the back. That is because when installed at the front of the upper cabinets, the light is shed onto the middle of the counter where it is needed. If the lights are installed toward the back, you are lighting mostly the backsplash not the counters, so the UCLs not a good use of your money if done that way. In addition, if you are seated nearby, and the UCLs are installed at the back, you would be able to see the lights from your seated position. Installed toward the front, behind the light rail, you will not see the lights.

I am saying this because some electricians balk at installing UCLs toward the front because it means a bit more twisting for them and maybe 10 extra minutes. They may also say the wires will show if installed toward the front. That is not true if the electrician knows his job. If the electrician says no, stand your ground and make him install the lights near the front, behind the light rail. You have to live with it for years while he will be long gone.

Also make sure they have a dimmable switch. A dimmable switch is inexpensive, and nice to have that flexibility.
