Why can’t you leave the washer on the right, hinge the door on the right, hinge the dryer on the left and the clothes will be easy to move from washer to dryer.

I can. This is our first time with washer and dryer. The installer says that I might hate having the washer on right since I am a right handed(like most of the people). I am just exploring my options and looking for input from people who may be in same situation.

Vin, I am right handed and once had my washer on the right and dryer on the left. It will be fine with that set up. Just make sure they are appropriately hinged and it will become something you won't even think about.

I am right-handed and having the washer on the right with door hinge on the right is not a problem. Dryer hinge is on the left and sits to the left of the washer. No option to change this on our machines. The whole setup is reverse to how the laundry room is plumbed and wired, and it still works fine.

Previous house had washer on right but this one is on the left.  No practical difference between them and it only took us a couple minutes to swap the hinges.

I don't think handedness matters one bit. Moving stuff from washer to dryer doesn't require much dexterity.

I’m right handed and been doing laundry for most of my 68 years and I’ve always had the washer on the right. It’s not an issue at all.

Vin, I'd never even thought about it before but the bungalow we bought and lived in 25 years had the washer on the right, dryer on the left. I'm right handed, it never gave me a minutes thought. I was just glad to have my own and didn't question the set up.

They are reversed in this house and washer is on the left of the dryer. Making the change after that many years wasn't an issue either. You're over thinking it ;0)

I just dealt with my own washer dryer issue. I don’t know of any front load washers that have changeable door hinges. Only the dryers doors. I have lived with my washer and dryer being backwards for over 30 years! The washer was on the right and the dryer was on the left side of it. I always had to maneuver the clothes over the washer door to get them into the dryer. I finally had them flipped. The washer is now on the left side and dryer is on the right. It meant a longer vent to the exterior wall and longer hoses, but I am thrilled that they finally “face” each other properly without the door in the way. I also put them on pedestals for comfort and storage.

Anyway, be sure both doors are reversible before you decide! You might be getting bad advice.

If they can both be reversed, then I’m not sure it matters. Place them for best convenience. Shortest hoses and venting is most efficient.

We have this set up. I am right handed as well and it wasnt an issue. The only issue is there are very few front load washers that have reversible doors to choose from. I believe only Electrolux and GE. I had an Electrolux and hated that machine. I ended up getting an LG where the door opens the opposite so I have to move clothes over the washer door into the dryer. It really hasn’t been as big of an issue as I thought it might.
