All-Weather Double Keypad Mechanical Keyless Latch Door Lock (Oil Rubbed Bronze) $88.00-$93.00 (and probably what we will use).

Any suggestions are always welcomed!!

This smart gate you are looking for will probably run you over $500 easy. But if you do happen to find one under $500 PLEASE share!

@Jae Bourg So I was imagining a normal WiFi or other wireless technology smart lock such as this one by Schlage:

To make that work, you need to rebuild the gate to use a fence post frame, so that normal home door lock designs can be used on the door fence post up against the fence post of the frame. That will cost more than $500, unfortunately.

The nice feature that this enables is the ability to set temporary access codes, open the gate remotely, and set time zones. For example, I might enable a gardener code to work Saturday through Monday, from 9 am to 2 pm. That way if some employee of the gardener ends up being a bad guy and shows up at 3 am, the code is not going to work.

westes Zone 9b California SF Bay . Did you find anything?

@traciel I concluded that you need to rebuild the gate with fence posts as the frame, then route out the fence posts like a door. Then you can use normal hardware. Of course you would then need to protect the smart lock with a rain guard, but there are parts to do that.

That kind of gate is a more high-end and aesthetic kind of door. My usual fence builder was a bit intimidated by it. I haven't done it yet but still want to do it.
