HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone, and thanks, Jeri, for the cute picture. We are finally having a "normal" winter here - actually frost on the ground this morning for the first time in 2 years. We are having 3 days w/o rain this weekend - saw the sun for the first time in over 10 days - very cheery.

2022 HAS to be better, although everyone in our county (including kids down to 5) is super vaccinated, so although the "case"numbers keep going up, the hospitalization numbers for the entire county (3 large hospitals) has stayed below 6-ish, and the ICU numbers go from 0 to 2. It is such a blessing.

Thank you Jeri! Yes, so grateful for vaccines and hoping for a happier 2022 for all.

Listening to the latest official recommendations, we are ordering some additional masks in the KN95 type (or one of the others, I'm not sure what way he went,

Wearing that will mean I'm using just one thickness . . . Which actually will feel "dangerous," but I should be able to breathe better. (3-thicknesses of cloth and mask don't sit well with asthmatic lungs!)

But Oh how I wish this was over and done with.

And I don't think that's happening any time soon.

Best wishes to all of you. I, too, want to be hopeful for a better future. Actually, to me, it seemed very predictable that the rate of contagion would soar once autumn/winter set in,and it was also obvious that many, many people were just acting irresponsibly in the weeks before Christmas. In my opinion it would have been so much wiser for governments everywhere to automatically re-introduce the requirement for the use of masks as soon as the autumn arrived. I hate them SO much, but they are essential.
