Thanks for the reply! This is our main entryway. The rest of the doors are standard flat white doors, which we will change out to paneled doors, but this door needs to be bifold so it doesnt hit the front door when opened. Do you think we should do a paneled bifold or louvered?

without a photo of your space its hard to know for sure. But would changing the hinges to the other side help? I have a front door and closet door very close together and they never hit one another because they swing in complete opposite directions

Ours is a panelled bifold, no louvers. We've never had any trouble with odours and we do keep shoes and boots in there, including wet boots in the winter on a tray. The doors get opened and closed a lot.

Could it open in the opposite direction?

Very unlikely that louvered would look better than panels. I think they are required on doors that enclose, e.g., furnaces and other air-drawing utilities, but otherwise, tropical locations only.

Since you will be changing your flat doors to paneled, get a paneled bifold door for the closet. Louvered doors collect a lot of dust.
