Elkay makes the best composite sinks. It is much more dense than the Blancos and others.

I think Greystone would be your best choice. All of those colors look great together.

Greystone if your cabinets are grey. But I'm digging the griege to pick up on the gold/brown moments. Putty would look awkward.

I chose matte brown (Kohler) for our Cambria Windermere. I've heard people not like darker sinks because it makes it look like a black hole. I've just never been attracted to light colored sinks.

Thanks for the input. Based partly on the feedback here, Greige is the winner! Jen K, our island is grey, but the rest of the cabinets are Glacier white. We decided Greige would not try to outshine the Taj Mahal. Our previous sink was a black Koehler Cast Iron, so the wife is done with really dark sinks. Yours looks great by the way!

Just don't get the 50-50 bowls that you've pictured. With a 50-50 configuration, neither side is big enough to set down a pan to soak, or wash anything without banging into the divider. Also, the D-curve that is in the back is a bit dated, but that is secondary to the 50-50 bowls issue. I recommend a single-bowl sink, but if you must have a double-bowl sink, get a 60-40 or 70-30 configuration, and try to have it be rectangular not D-shaped.

Those are good points. We have not ordered yet... those are issues.

Have you considered getting brushed gold faucets and hardware? I think that would be prettier with the greige sink and the tan mahal

That is a nice sink! The corner drain is great - once you have a corner drain, you never go back to a center drain.

What are those specific colors please for your back splash and cabinets - I love the combination and you could make it easier for me as I am doing Tajmahal too. such a great post for me, better if you tell me those colors of your accessory items. You did a great job!! Thanks!

Hi Janiepd! Glad to help. The sink we chose is Griege. The backsplash material is Artic White brushed marble. Cabinets are by Wellborn. Perimeter cabinet color is Glacier White and the island will be Mink Gray. Our walls are Sherwin Williams Amazing Gray with SW Pure White trim. We've chosen Lutron Claro switches and plates in the Biscuit color. Black switchplates on island. We're (im)patiently awaiting our cabinets (due in 2-3 weeks!). Every time we look at our color choices we feel pleased. Hope it all turns out well. Stressful, right?

You did a magificent job and I appreciate the answer so quickly. I am doing the Taj in the main kitchen and plan to do a very large stainless steel sink, but in the butlers pantry that is a continuation of the kitchen, I also have a large sink and am highly considering one of these sinks but had no idea of which color - please share a photo when it all comes together and more importantly, let us all know how it looks! BTW - did you consider the lux over the classic sink? And what made you choose the classic???

Hi Janie. We chose the classic purely on color. That is the one that my wife liked the best, after requesting chips of all the colors. Any of the above would have worked, but Griege is where we landed to try and pick up some of the veining in the Taj.

With any composite sink, open the box on the day it arrives and inspect it with a flashlight please. Look for hairline cracks please. These sinks are tough after install, but poor packaging and rough shipping take their toll. I'll bet 25% of my composites go in the trash. I've had at least 2 customers that had to have 3 sinks shipped.

Joseph, we inspected ours and saw no noticable damage, but not with a flashlight. It seemed like Elkay's pakaging was well done. I will go check it again now though.

Get a sink that is light and blends closest to your countertop. A dark sink will look like a big black hole in your counter.

Hi Janie. Faucet is a Delta Coranto in Arctic Stainless (with matching dispenser and disposal button). It is a touch activated faucet. Pretty cool once you get used to it. Cabinets are Wellborn, backsplash is Arctic White Brushed marble. Here are more pics :-)
