Show us some Ks today:

My last working day will be January 28, 2022. 2 weeks. I have worked for this company 35+ years. Not how I thought it would happen. On to better things.

Krossa Regal - I must have over 20 of these. Very prolific grower

Beautiful mature clump of Krossa Regal at Plant Delights Nursery Juniper Botanical Garden. In the first photo, I think Tony Avent is giving a tour in the background.
The last photo is my Krossa Regal, surrounded by other potted hostas in a less majestic example of garden presentation.

Krossa Regal again, and Katie Q, a new addition that did great last year.

Kanzi - a good grower so far.

Kempen Sky High - a new one that looks very promising.

Kisuji - looks great in the spring

    Kiwi Full Monty

Krugerrand - from a sickly plant in a pot to one growing well in my Hosta hell in 2 years. I had trouble finding this one but seems more available today. Really needs another year to strut its stuff.

Katie Q again. This one grows to a medium size. The mature clump at PDN was gorgeous, but I did not photograph it. I saw the mature clump at PDN, checked their greenhouse for it, and went home to buy it online. And this is what you see.

Krugerrand this year. It got damaged by late frosts, setting it back about 1 year. Steve, yours should be majestic this year.

Paula I am sorry your upcoming retirement is not happening in the way you would have chosen. I hope you will share if you ever choose to. The hotel air conditioner cracked me up.

Saija Kingsize will need plenty of room.

jocl17 & Saija very nice Komodo Dragon.

utog you are lucky to be able to visit PDN. Happy that Katie Q has done well. Hope you & Steve have a better year with Krugerrand, it is very attractive. Late frost is never good.

Steve Kempen Sky High does look promising indeed. I really like Kisuji.

    Kaleidochrome darn deer!

Still waiting on spots for Katie Q & Komodo Dragon

Paula, these days things often don't go the way we expected they would. As long as you land on your feet that's all that matters. Good luck!

So many beautiful Krossa Regals and Komodo Dragons!

    Greenhouse Megastore????? Where, where, where????
I don’t want to know what that air conditioner has seen……. 😱
Paula, congratulations on retirement! In a few weeks, you’ll wonder how you ever fit work into your busy life!😂

Everyone’s Krossas, Komodo Dragons and Kruggerands are so large and full, I am very envious!

Loving Katie Q, one I have never heard of.
Steve, your Kisuji is soooooo very bright and beautiful!
Peren, your Kaleidcrome is to die for even in its nibbled on state!
Mbug, your Kempton Red Twist looks perfect where it is!
Nicholsworth, I think you hold the record for number of KR in this group!!

The K-Hostas I have a both pretty sad. On the right in the first photo is what was labeled as being Hosta katsuragawa beni, but I see no red on the petioles, so I think it unlikely. This poor plant has been eaten down to the roots for several years in a row so I had to dig it up and stick it in the time-out pot to teach it to fight back against the rabbits. It was promptly eaten again about two days after this photo was taken. (left is a Lakeside Dragonfly, which will be reposted a month or so =)

Below is my poor, deeply buried Krossa Regal, which holds the honor of being my oldest hosta (that I actually planted myself). It has been getting smaller for the last five years of its 12-year life. I have another time-out pot ready for it in the corner of the garage. Get bigger or else.

Hosta_maker, Ki-renjyaku……will the double flower be fragrant? Also, what do you want to accomplish with incorporating the seedlings from Japan? Just curious!!

    Deb

it is not fragrant but the possibilities are interesting. i could see it in a dark purple.

a yellow and dark purple would be a good combo.

the japanese seedlings can add vigor and influence into hybrids i have going. somewhat a reinfusion of pure genes.

i will also use solbergs sieboldiana hakama souvenier to try and dig into some truer sieboldiana genes. maybe one that grows faster and less dominant.

Hosta_maker, I always appreciate you taking time to respond to my questions. I think a purple and yellow would be awesome!!
