I would look for rugs with subtle tonal or damask type patterns & texture and that have the colors of your walls & furniture in them. You’ll likely change out your duvet / quilt / shams more often than wall color or furniture & will always choose colors & patterns for bedding that goes well with those 2 elements. I Googled images for tonal & damask pattern area rugs & there are many options. My point is that you don't need to chose a solid color rug just because your bedding has lots of colors & pattern. A lighter color of rug would look great on your pretty flooring but if it's too light in color, the rug won't stand out against the cream color of your furniture. I would want contrast with both of those elements. So, a lighter shade of colors to blend with walls & furniture and some pattern & texture to add layers of interest & softness for a bedroom.

May I suggest that you change out your bedcovers first? You have antique white bed and nightstand, plus beautiful wood floors, so the coverings should harmonize with those basic elements. And the gray walls--not my fav color for a bedroom, but here's how you can tie it all together.

Get ivory bedding that matches the ivory of your set. Get a throw in gray the color of your walls. Add pillows with gray, ivory, and one other color. Then get an rug in ivory/charcoal.

This idea only in ivory, not white. And put your art work over the bed and lose the decor piece.

Damask is always a repeating pattern, can be any size & is used on wallpaper, carpeting and upholstery. Because it’s a repeated pattern it’s not too busy & if it’s in tone on tone colors rather than contrasting color for the pattern & background, it’s even less busy. That piece on my bathroom wall I think is meant to be wallpaper image but it’s mounted on a stretcher frame with black arounf the outside edges. It was not an expensive thing at all but I liked it for my bathroom wall hanging over my old fashioned slipper tub on a pedestal.

@sally VW I’m staying away from suggesting you change out your bedding - you aren’t asking about it. Maybe you change it out often but you are asking about rug. I looked at your prior posts & see that you live in the south - so warmer climate & that your overall furniture style in your home is very cohesive - that is, a consistent style throughout your home. I also see that your lovely flooring is new! I didn’t suggest any rug color bc on my monitor your bedroom wall color looks grey but you just wrote that it’s green! I do agree with @housegal200 suggestion on rug style - the pattern & lighter colors she shows is something I’d consider but obviously not gray since your walls are green!

Teal green is great! Then get bedding in ivory and teal--could be a watercolor print as here or ivory with a throw in teal.

Add a plain cream rug to contrast with the floor as suggested previously.

Here's an ivory and teal pattern. Several of us do feel it's better to change out bedding before you pick a rug. The white background and pink of current bedding doesn't do your bedroom set any favors.

If you change out your bedding to solid ivory with teal throw, then a larger horizontal artwork over the bed--something like this--would give you a dreamy watercolor tropical feeling.

Question….for a king bed ..how wide/long should a throw blanket be to placed across the bed? Should it be the same width as the duvet or comfortor? Cant seem to find throws that are 108 inches. thanks

My first thought was soft and simple to act as a lovely backdrop, in the right color. Be sure to read up on suggested sizes (info on Pinterest) if not sure.

I’d aim to create a more luxurious feel with your bedding and not add a throw on the bottom, as bed is already busy with the cushions.

If using a duvet cover, a thicker duvet would do wonders (and not tucked in), add a solid blanket underneath for a nice layered look and reconsider cushions, to get the looks below.

You can combine the main colors in your bedroom for rug (sage with cream)

I would get coverlet. There are a lot of inexpensive and looking good ones. You can cover your bedding and it looks all the time neat. There are different colors.
