Restoration Hardware Performance Fabrics Preferences?

We are deciding between RH's Para Italian Performance Basket Weave (a rep told us this is somewhat new) and their Perennials Performance Textured Linen Weave for a the Belgian Classic Slope Arm Sofa - in Natural

Anyone out there in Houzz-land...

- have any experience with the Para Italian Performance Basket Weave and how it holds up?

or

- anyone have a strong case for one fabric over the other?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Suzanne! I unfortunately don't have the answer to this but have the same question as you do. I'm considering these two materials for one of their beds. One question I do have for you...I am looking at the natural color and was only able to get a swatch of the Perennials performance textured linen weave in the natural but not the para italian performance basket weave. Do the colors look the same or is one lighter than the others?

Would love to hear if either of you ordered the para Italian performance basket weave? Please provide any thoughts or feedback!

    any feedback to share?

I have a swatch of three types of performance all in natural and to me they all look the same color but different textures between perennials performance textured linen weave vs. para Italian performance basket weave vs performance textured two tone linen.

I have the same question as to which performance fabric is best as well.

I'm grappling with the same decision. If anyone has anyone has ordered either of these and has feedback I'd love to hear it.

I ended up deciding to buy a 7th Avenue sofa after visiting their showroom. It holds up better and it's very impressive with spills, dogs, etc. And even if it gets messed up to replace one section is $250. Overall cheaper than RH, holds up better. Good luck.

I would expect a performance fabric (even linen) not to pill....Yes???

Im having same dilemma concerned that para can only be cleaned with soap and water but do not like the pilling of the perrenial. After examining the pilling/softening of the fabric that is on virtually everything in the show room, I’m leaning toward the perrenial now and realizing it is not necessarily a bad look. its not at all like the pilling of a sweater even on the older sofas in the showroom the pilling is very mild and adds a soft touch. there is not much consumer info on the para. might default to the most cleanable which is perrenial. Any other opinions?

i just looked up the fabric cleaning recommendations on the rh website it actully says you CAN bleach the para italian fabric, tho 2 rh designers told me that you can’t. aski g them for clarification.

@rebeccahuang Hi Rebecca, I'm currently considering the 7th Avenue sofa as well. Are you entirely pleased with it since you have owned it? Do you have any photos that you wouldn't mind sharing? I'm exhausted shopping for sofas! I am ready to pull the trigger soon on something but it is so helpful to me to get feedback from people who have actually owned what I am looking at. Thank you!

The performance fabrics are great because all stains come out as long as you dont allow to set for a long time. As with all solution dyed acylic fabrics (sunbrella, crypton, perennials, para tempotest etc.) you have to be willing to live with the pilling.

A lot of people on here complain about pilling and claim that it is a problem with RH, but it is a characteristic of these fabrics.

The only thing that is stain resistant and does not pill is Alcantara or some other high quality microfiber, but many don't care for the way it looks in a home.

I have a few Restoration Hardware sofas covered in the original natural
Linen fabric. They have held up incredibly well even with careful washing , obviously line dried. My dilemma is they no longer make that original fabric. Any suggestions?
