I would not do any built ins. Permanent seating is just that Fixed. No allowance for adjustment.

The furniture looks great, the arrangement too, I'd put the side table in the corner by the door.

IF you plan for a whole porch overhaul in the future, think slimmer furniture, including the dining table and chairs. In the meantime, just compliment what you have.

Some colorful cushions. and replace the fan light kit with something more shaded, like a basket weave.

I think you need some color to brighten the space after all it is a porch. A bright rug under the seating area will help with the dark furniture - keep the white cushions but maybe add a colorful throw over the backs of the chairs.

I would try removing the one chair on the left to open up the view/walkway from the house. And the extra table by the dining table unless it is used when serving food.

I don't think the furniture is too big at all. A built in bench wouldn't be at all comfortable to relax in. Is the furniture worn out? Does it need replacing? I agree that it needs some color. What colors do you have in your house? What color is the rug under the dining table?

Thanks everyone. Furniture is in pretty good shape. Appreciae the input! Definitely would prefer to keep it. Agree a new rug - current one is beige- would liven the entire space up!

You might consider removing one or both of the chairs and using the dining chairs. Would it be a pain to move the chair back and forth? If you sit 4 people in the seating area and all 4 eat 2 or three meals at the table, it might be awkward, but if your usage is less, it might work well.

I might try flipping the chairs and the love seat, placing the little table between the chairs. It seems like the width of the love seat is narrower, and that might open up the porch entrance a bit. Otherwise, I think your porch looks great...very inviting.

2 goals in an outdoor space are tough to achieve unless their is lots more space….try placing the table under the fan first…then add chairs for dining….

At this point decide what will fit comfortably in the remaining space…

It looks like the table will function better if placed lengthwise beneath the fan…

Could the chairs be placed like this? Then perhaps what looks like a coffee table for the set could go in front of the loveseat without blocking the door to the outside deck too much?

I think the furniture looks really comfortable and does not seem physically too large for the space. I think that you can work with it as it is. There have been pillow suggestions, and colorful pillows might make a difference. I think the furniture seems visually larger because of the color. So I might try using some throws on the back of the chairs, in a lighter color. Or if you are set on new furniture same size but matching the floor so it fades into the background.

It's a tight area for seating and dining. I presume you use both? I agree that a brighter rug under the dining area could brighten the space up. What size is the one that is currently there? What colors do you like?

So it doesn’t feel as squeezed in, suggest moving love seat over and place table/plant (or lamp) in the corner. Suggest adding a new rug horizontally, which will make the area feel larger and using green would be a lovely choice. Rug style below would work with the one in the dining area. Play around with the chairs‘ locations.
