@ilovetogrow z9 Jax Florida While I do really love Hosta & actually have 7 large plus assorted mini’s in my yard, I must tell you that I look for your new posts simply to read your funnies which never fail to make me laugh - perfect click bait! Of course I do also admire all of the wonderful Hosta pics posted - they are making me long for spring and my first sightings of those emerging hosta pips!

So many Lakesides to enjoy. This is always a fun thread to go through.

    Lakeside Black Mama 5-21-21

    Lakeside Color Blue 5-13-21..still young

    Lakeside Hoola Hoop 5-30-21

    Lakeside Meter Maid 5-25-21

    Lakeside Midnight Miss 5-5-21

    Part 2...

Lakeside Neat Petite 6-25-21....perfect name....always a small compact round shape. Not a leaf out of place!

Lakeside Paisley Print 6-3-21....IMO an awesome looking hosta! To me, there seems to be a lot of variations in the center pattern 0f different LPPs. I could be wrong, but I think I recall reading something about that. Anyone know?

Just the one Lakeside for me and new last year. Hope it grows half as nice as all yours.

bkay - you're not helping. I've been casually searching for a Cindy Cee for years.

mbug - I believe the center on Paisley Print gets more narrow as the plant matures.

Lakesides either grow slow for me or grow fast but look ratty latter in the year (Cupcake, Dragonfly). Maybe I just need more patience with them.

Paula you made me giggle and shudder today.

So many beauties here! Mary was a busy girl.

Some died in their pots waiting to be planted, Keepsake & Love Affair.

Hope to get Tee Ki, Midnight Miss, Spellbinder, Rhapsody, Zesty Zeno and especially Old Smokey planted.

    Cupcake

An older pic of Dot Com. It needs rescuing.

    Down Sized

Three of Looking Glass in another older pic. It needs more shade.

Paisley Print sunk in a pot until it gets stronger.

Paisley Print is really one of my all time favorites. I lost my shade garden by way of having lost my peach tree August 2021 that provided all the shade. I think I will dig up Paisley Print and either try to move it to the Northside alley or give it to my Uncle.

Paula, the cat race is just right on! So funny just sitting there….of course you know cats love boxes!!
All of the Lakesides here are really beautiful! Loving all the LS Paisley Prints…..mine is pathetic as you will see in a minute….
Saija, LS Little Turf is so cute and your Prophecy is gorgeous!
Beth, love LS Ripples and Tee Ki ie cutie as well.
Sherry, even though you rescued LSPP, it looks terrific in that pot. Hope it does well planted.
mbug, I love the color of LS Color Blue, I don’t usually like all green hostas, but LS Black Mama and LS Midnight Mass are ones I like. Also, LS Neat Petite is one I gotta have. Does it need sun or shade??
Peren, I really like that little Cupcake, though it doesn’t look so little!! Also hope your LSPP does get stronger for you.

I only have one LS. Poor Paisley Print has been struggling since I got it…… First it burned, so I moved it…….it didn’t improve….so I moved it again, still doing badly. This was over the course of the first year. The next year it was very small still. So I potted it up, finally! It improved over the summer, but I then plant late summer because I don’t really have a good place to over winter……. North side of house, unheated garage….. anyway here is the poor thing before and after potting, back in the ground.

Debra...LS Neat Petite gets a moderate amount of late afternoon sun. Seems to like it.

peren...nice LS Cupcake....tried 3 and none of them worked.

Steve...your comment on LPP seems right to me. The young ones seem to have larger brighter centers now that I think about it. Thanks!

Lakeside Paisley Print. I have two because my first one arrived late, hot, and soggy. It was rotten smelling and all the leaves were mush. I contacted the vendor immediately, and they sent me a healthy replacement. A couple months later, the first one sent up a couple leaves….Now, I have two healthy plants 2* years later. My MIL is eyeing one of them.
*Amended 1/20/22 4 years later, not 2 years later. Ah, middle-age brain playing with time.

Lakeside Prophecy Fulfilled progression this season.

I definitely need to pick up Prophecy Fulfilled. Very nice. Here are my two, Lakesides. First, the afore mentioned Lakeside Dragonfly (left). It was destroyed by rabbits again this year, but looked really good for about 20-minutes on the first day after I brought it home from the garden center.

Below is Lakeside Paisley Print. I somehow managed to plant it in the middle of about ten daffodils, so it gets completely buried for the first half of the year. I should probably move it, but I keep finding new hostas to plant in all the available spaces. I guess, I could also just dig up and move the daffodils... but then I start weeding.... and then, well you know how it is.

Mosswood, your Lakeside Paisley Print is too pretty and too happy to move. Let the daffodils sort themselves out.

I agree and UtOG your LPPs looks great for being two year olds. It was one of my first purchases at a local Hosta farm (now retired). I mentioned the plant was a little small hoping for a discount. Nope, no discounts . . . but we will sell you two for one! Happy Dayz (no, that was from a different, but nearby place). Turns out those plants are small for a reason. They grow s l o w l y. At least for me. Still just two single eyes planted in 2016 but the leaves are bigger. Perhaps I will pot one up this year after beating it against the driveway.

Chatterbox is new for me last year. I started it in a pot before putting it in the ground later in the year. With my luck, it won't look this big again for many years.

Color Blue finally starting to increase. Planted in 2018 but it does throw up some nice looking seedlings.

    Dividing Line planted 2019.

Spellbinder split from a cramped pot and planted in 2019.

Dragonfly by June planted in 2018 and moved a couple times.

Full Tide split from a full pot in 2018 and never missed a beat at the top of a little hill between two maples in the shade. One of my favorite Lakesides.

Another good one for me. Keepsake - lost the middle of the clump to rot or some varmint but it keeps chugging on. Planted in 2018 - now with dinner salad.

    Midnight Miss planted in 2018.

I really like Symphony which does OK in a tough spot, planted in 2019.

My favorite is Old Smokey which was greatly diminished by the maple tree roots. Planted in 2016. Rescued in 2020. Just nothing else in this color out there.

Steve, to quote the song, "everything is awesome!" with your photos today.

Also, I wondered if my memory was playing tricks on me. You know, how "a couple of years" becomes 2 years in your mind, but is actually a lot more than that? So, I looked up Paisley Print in my email, and found that I actually received it in 6/2017. That means the photos above are actually of 4 year old plants, not 2 year old plants. They were liner-sized tiny plants in 2017, and one of them nearly died as noted above. As it turns it, it was mostly dead, which is big difference from all dead. ;)

    Lakeside Love Affaire (in July)

Lakeside Paisley Print (in July) with forget me not seedlings. Getting too crowded. Where can I move them?

Thanks, UtOG. Working from home I'm often heard saying, "Honey, Where's my pants?" I need to go watch that movie again.

Cat racing, that would be about right.

So many beautiful Lakesides! Sherry great pic of your very happy PP.

Lakeside Paisley Print, it is slow but getting there!
