Woodworking Porches & Decks Cleaning Tips

Trying to clean this cedar soffit before we clear coat it. Having trouble getting the dirt off; we’ve tried power wash, drill brush with soap and nothing it really working. Any ideas on how to clean or is completely sanding it my only remaining option?

What makes you think it is dirty? Power washing cedar is not a good idea and neither is a drill brush. Both if used must be used very cautiously and carefully or you will wreck the cedar.

It’s from the installers hands, finger and hand marks all over. It’s pretty visible. So what and how do you suggest to clean it? Or just sand?
