Devils trumphet

last modified: 4 years ago

I bought some angel trumphet seeds from park seed and succesfully grew 3 plants for the first time back in may. They got pretty tall(around 4 feet) over the summer and the dark purple/white blooms were spectacular and lasted all summer! I am in zone 7B north georgia. My question is, can I do anything to these plants while its dormant? Should I cut them to the ground?? If I leave them alone will it start growing from the dead/dormant looking wood like a decidious tree would?? or will it restart/reset from the ground??

Heres what it looks like now. I did have 2 of them that got top heavy and started leaning badly( I used the rock to keep them straight). The rock worked perfectly!

PS: After sharing my pics on a few other sites I think my variety is called a devils trumphets not an AT?

PSS: Another kool thing about this plant is the stalk has a dark purple color.
