How tall will an Eden rose get?

I am thinking of planting an eden rose to climb up my coved deck. I really want it to go across the top, but it maybe to tall. If I plant it in the ground it will have to go up a 10 ft post. If I plant it in a container and put it on my deck it will only have to go up 8 ft. I dont have any experience with climbing roses and would love some advice.
I live in zone 6a and will get 6-8 hours of sunlight a day. West facing.

Eden is generally 10' tall or so. It will climb the pole but will not be able to cover the top.

I wouldn't try to use just a post for a good sized climbing rose. You need something with some width, the depth of an arbor, for example. Here's Eden below. Diane

mine are very happy and have canes that are about 15 feet tall. I need to be better about pruning them but I want them to grow long.
