hydrangea help!

We live in South Florida but I’m originally from South Carolina and I miss my hydrangeas! Last April I purchased some endless summer hydrangeas and placed them around our front yard. Luckily, our front yard has two giant oak trees providing afternoon shade. So far most are doing great. But I have a few who have become infected with fungi. I know these hydrangeas grow on old wood, but is it possible to remove all the leaves from the infected plant without killing it? Most stems already have new leave buds. My fear is if I remove all the leaves I will kill the plant.

I have been treating them with fungicide in hopes of preventing further spread.

I appreciate anyone’s help or guidance.
