Another quip that left me chuckling Sherry........I like what I see on Lollipop Kisses; a melon base with bright raspberry center. If the colors stayed that way it would be luscious. Look forward to seeing more of it this season..... Your Laura Harwood always does you credit........I have one "L" and I've shown it often. It is a wonderful yellow (and I love warm yellows). Colorfast/sunfast good producer, stout scapes and hardy. It has turned out to be my favorite yellow thus far. I recommend it if you can find it:

Lonesome Jaguar - This was the first year for it too bloom, and it did so well. It's a fast multiplier and a good rebloomer!

Lydia's Regal Robe has fantastic color, but it ticks me off because it never keeps its seed pods.

Little Mystic Moon is one of the few miniatures I still grow. I keep it because it has high bud count even when grown in part-shade.

Landon Lee was repeatedly attacked by grubs in recent years. Last season it started to recover.

Little LIght of Mine usually puts on a good show, but it barely bloomed last year. This was the first time ever it didn't rebloom. Grubs got to the roots of all but one fan.

All of these are beautiful, but I am drawn to Lillian's Thin Ice, which is odd because I don't usually go for the white ones. We got Luscious Kiss as a bonus too. It's a great little daylily. I love the eye on Ledgewood's Jumpstart.

I wish the red on Lady Stephanie Victoria Redding was more intense. It is a late bloomer.

Laughing Giraffe is new to the garden. Bob picked this one.

Lava Flow is one that will always stay in our garden. The brilliance of the color plus its early blooming make it a keeper.

Ooh, I didn't see Landon Lee earlier. How wonderful! Little Mystic Moon is cute.

I don't know why we keep this one. Probably because it is one of the few appliques we grow. I can't ever tell if the the color is lavender or tan. Lavender isn't my favorite color, but adding tan to it just makes it worse. We actually didn't choose this one. It came as another daylily. We ordered about 7 and all but two were mislabeled. You can be sure we never ordered from that nursery again. I guess I need to tell the name--Lighter Than Air.

Here's our Lillian's Thin Ice.

I just don't know about Lions and Tigers and Bears. We have had it for a couple years ad the first flowers were so pale I doubted it was correctly labeled. It has gradually gotten more color, but still doesn't have the solid color the picture in the database shows.

Lucky Draw languished in a bad spot for a while, but it has been moved and is looking a lot better.

I like that Little Showman and Laura Harwood as well as all of the lavender ones. But that Limelight and Lavender one is worth searching for to me.

A local hybridizer was downsizing and moving so they were selling off their inventory by the clump. I managed to get 10 for myself and also donated a bunch to a local community garden. I also snagged some small pieces of those while I was dividing and planting them for the local garden. What else could I do with them as they fell off the large clumps as I was dividing?

One man's trash . . . Here's my first bloom on Lady Neva after it skipped the first year. I could see replacing this with a better one, but until I do . . .

and one I picked up for myself, Lavender Handle Bars (I actually lost the tag on this one and contacted the seller with a pic and location where I think it was. Although I don't remember the name, he said this was most likely it. If you think it might be something else, I'm all ears . . . hmm, that might be a good name for a new one, "I'm All Ears". Maybe for a poly spider.)

Could probably replace this one with Limelight and Lavender (after several years of evaluation). Do people often replace their daylilies with better ones when they come along?

As a small grower myself Steve, I can tell you that if I didn't buy new ones to replace old ones it would end up being like housekeeping for me. No new thrills each year; just the same tedious maintenance chores over and over again. However a problem arises in a "small" garden when you can't bear to get rid of any of your old ones but still keep adding new ones. That's where most of us eventually find ourselves.................Maryl
