A normal ceiling box should be able to support any of the fixtures you have shown. A crystal chandelier or a ceiling fan would be a different story.

I think there’s a lot of truth to that. He just doesn’t want to change the light fixture. 🙄. I guess it’s time to hire someone then. No, we’ve never had an electrician look at it.

Changing out a lamp is not difficult. If hubby doesn't want to, nothing is stopping you. Just make sure you turn off the power first!

My daughter just swapped all the light fixtures in her new 1940s bungalow. All her ceilings look like yours. FYI: what holds up a fixture is the electrical box and wood it is attached to hidden under the fixture. You could swap it out yourself and impress your hubby. Swapping fixtures is a DIY.
