bathroom tub layout help

Renovating this master bath and need help figuring out tub placement. Ideally it would go where the toilet is but the plumbing work wont fit with what we want so toilet will need to stay there. . Thinking about an architectural free standing tub between the shower and primary bedroom. the current vanity is 7'6" and the space between the shower and wall is currently just over 5' we are fully taking out the shower and planning on frameless with a linear drain so we can extend the shower towards the toilet to gain another 6" or a foot without impacting the window.

should I caddy corner the tub or slightly angled? should I place parallel to vanity? the other option is to do a traditional tub in a surround (or whatever it is called with tile on the outside) and use the tub surround to install glass partition for the shower. my wife is leaning towards no tub at all and maybe doing some cabinetry in that alcove with a makeup station. given the vanity length, i was thinking we could maybe do separate double vanities and a makeup station connecting the two in the middle so we can get a tub and the makeup station.

any other considerations or thoughts?
