Completely substandard. New cabinets will be cheaper than having those ”fixed”. You‘ve already seen that they are clueless and cant fix them.

Verbo, what would the appropriate fix have been, replacing the individual cracked trim pieces? The company owner tried to convince me that all new cabinet installs start out looking like the before pictures, but regardless the fixes look like cr@p.

The actual cabinet construction is questionable, not just the slopped on with their feet latex junk paint. Normal hairline telegraphing between wood joints is small. Large openings inducate the joinery is substandard. They are not even worth the 4K of raw matetial, much less as40K worth of “custom” cabinets. Custom is not a synonym for quality.

Get your money back.

The paint job on those cabinets is not very good either. I would have them at least replace the cabinets with the problems. Its pretty obvious, they do not have a clue how to do anything with kitchen cabinets. No idea about the rest of the kitchen, since we cant see it.

Here’s the kitchen as a whole- nice design if you can overlook my clutter (2 toddlers, no time)! Don’t love microwave area but it looks better than it did originally. Up close, pretty much every door and drawer face still has nicks, caulk doesnt look great, and there are still chipped areas. They’ve stopped working with the cabinet subcontractor who did the install, but that doesnt help me at this point! They also blamed it on me only having a budget for low end cabinets (which was news to me), and so what do i really expect, but to me that’s bs- they assured me going into it that the cabinets would be better quality than what i had before, to convince me to replace and not paint, but that’s not the case. i also chose a different brand, but they subbed these (cnc) in due to supply chain issues.

I had my 20 year old site built plywood boxes redoored and sanded, filled, and “painted” by N-hance 10 months ago. Not a single chip Or crack. I cannot imagine your situation is acceptable. What product did they use to finish the cabinets? Looks like regular latex paint

im not sure what kind if paint, but there’s a definite sheen to it. So is general consensus that at this point the only way to fix it is to rip out the affected pieces (so all lower cabinets and oven area) and start over? If company wont go for that and/or wont refund me, what recourse do i have? there’s nothing specific in the contract, though we do still have our final payment outstanding (maybe 20k).

CNC prefab import cabinets are not custom anything. It’s fraud to represent them as such. They are low end, poorly made, junk imports. Maybe 6K worth of cabinets there. You can live with ugly bad quality for a while if you aren’t aren’t paying disgustingly inflated “custom” prices for them. Keep your money, and find an actual custom cabinet shop to replace those.
