I've read a lot of reviews online that said Trane's TAM9 air handler is so loud that some customers have regretted their purchase. Since both of my air handlers, upstairs and downstairs, will go inside closets, I'm second-guessing our original decision to go with the TAM9 and wondering if the TEM8 might be better for quietness. Our ductwork has been evaluated and a manual J inspection done to verify that the units we're replacing were the proper size. If there's anyone who could speak to this, I'd be appreciative.
