Dining room update/WIP

Need to work on new lampshade/bombe chest. but adore the pastel of my DH & his mom done in the 70’s. it was her bombe chest & lamp- so a little moment for her. As well as many blue/white porcelains from her thru out the house.

If anyone has watched ”Truth Be Told” w Octavia Spencer, these pheasants remind me of that movie!

That pastel is darling. Such a lovely room! It’s a treat getting to see updates … more, more! :D

Love the wall color ( and everything else) ! Please tell Eld, and I the name of that color.

Gorgeous! What about getting one or two skinny buffet lamps to put in front of the picture and move the lamp to another spot?

Thank you all so much! i will try to find the old pics.

The wallpaper was here - light blue damask that had furniture wood stains & uV had turned the wallpaper glue white.

I mixed left over paint together with 1/2 water to make a glaze to see if it would cover stains before removing /replacing wallpaper. what a chore & expense. The glaze worked!

Nantucket fog BM, touch of October Mist- BM- I know were put in the glaze. The touch of gray green October Mist kept iy from becoming too pastel baby boy blue.

And chandelier, wanted something not so traditional in there- its a fun piece!

Love the feel of the room and the connection to your Dh and his mom. The chandelier is a beauty and really lends lightness to the room.

Woodrose, looks like we are going have to have Peppa come to our homes and mix the paint for us!

    🤗

Thanks for sharing! I love the colour of the walls with the wood furniture. They were meant to be together.

Woodrose & Eld- Ill do it!!!

Lyban- the seats were a cream (dirty) fabric with raised pattern. i had bought some fabric paint medium to mix w my glaze. but the day I decided to paint them, I couldnt find it. I took seat cushions off & used a foam roller. Sprayed w fabric protecter once dry.

Oakley, yes- that lamp is really too big for that spot. Ill have to play around some- 2 buffet lamps would work.

Oh how I love your home!!! Thinking outside the box is your specialty.

That is glorious!! I adore the chandelier, and I cannot tell you how happy I am to see that you like and hung the portrait of your dh! I have an oil portrait of each of my children at age 4…and I would be beyond thrilled if ds’s future wife truly wanted to display his portrait! 😊

What a beautiful home you have! ♥

What a lovely room. Another lover of the chandelier. Is it contemporary or vintage? So fabulous!!!

The chandelier is Visual Comfort Calais, I think is the name - current.

Nini, how sweet! Yes, I have DH portrait and DS portrait in the DR also - they are on the side walls of the arched opening. Just didn't show that angle. I wanted them to be "found" instead of front and center in there.

Aktillery, I have to think outside of the box to save $$.

This shows how the front room & DR relate with entry in between.

I had a party while waiting for sewing lady to make pleated table skirt, I cant sew (wish I could) Still on her waiting list.
