Some sort of Oncidium or Oncostele, perhaps?

Thanks for the suggestions. I suspected oncidium but I'll keep checking around and hopefully narrow it down.

tropicreezent, I’m sure this is not the answer you were hoping to hear, but the truth is, in orchid breeding, the name is really the weak link in the entire chain of events. There are a fairly large number of closely related species, and other hybrids, that will breed with Oncidium, and in our never ending quest to generate something “new” that will generate sales, means that we will continue to do this kind of breeding until we have tried all the combinations that will produce viable seeds.

The Royal Horticultural Society in England tried to keep all this mess straight and orderly (as the British are want to do), but when the Asian market started breeding, and cloning, with no record keeping, the task became impossible, so today you can purchase orchids in any big box store with no name attached. And only if the plant really looks like a Cattleya, or Phalaenopsis, you have no idea what it is…..Oh, my bad, it could be a Brassolaeliacattleya, or perhaps a Doritinopsis. One of these looks like a Cattleya, and the other like a Phalaenopsis, but neither is.

When you are dealing with multigeneric long line hybrids, all of the possibly a million seeds in a pod will produce a genetically different plant. And without a name tag, identification is simply impossible.

You have a beautiful blooming orchid plant. Enjoy it.
