To be honest, I think those wallpaper choices are too loud for any bedroom. I would choose a wallpaper more soothing and subtle. I think a bedroom is a place to relax and unwind. You can still keep the black and white theme.

Agree with kculbers. Those patterns would be great in a powder room, but I wouldn't ask a child to rest and relax with them. I'd have been afraid of those large carnivorous cats. Have you asked your daughter what she likes?

You can achieve non childish, classic by overall room choices. Room below is adaptable as she grows and paper easier to decorate around. Add blue and gold accents for now and as her tastes change, it’s easy to change a few things.

A 7yr old will have an opinion. If you don't let her help choose--you will hear about it at her wedding!! I am thinking you want to paper a room FOR LIFE and I get that because removing wall paper is a chore, but frankly 7yr old/sophisticated doesn't sound like the 7yr old will feel at home in this room given the paper you have chosen thus far.

So, I really like the black and white theme for the bedroom, but I think the chetahs are a little scary.

Can you post pictures of the room? Can you give us more info? Will there be a bed and a crib in this room?

Since the black and white is high contrast i would be tempted for the design to be lighter and more whimsical since it is for a kids room

Maybe do a chalkboard wall and make the others white.

Yes, both kids will be sharing a room. It's not big. We have the 7yr old in a lofted bed. I'm going to put the crib under the loft bed.

The above wallpaper will work well. Use color with your 7yr olds bedding and accessories.

Since it is a small amount of wallpaper, I hear peel and stick wallpapers are easy to do and you may be able to do this yourself. My daughter used it and she said it was very easy to work with. Check out a video first to help you with the kinks.

As a kid, I would have LOVED the cheetahs. They are not scary. They are cute! (The zebras being hunted, while iconic, would be horrific to a kid.)

Back in the 1950s when I was a child, my mother painted the bedroom that I shared with my sister a dark gray. She made our curtains out of a bark cloth that had lots of wild animals on it: lions, tigers, elephants, flamingos. I adored it! I was fascinated by that space. And when I look back on it, I realize my love of interior design was influenced by it. In retrospect, too, I realize it was out of character for my beige-loving mother to create the room. Perhaps she was channeling her own love of unusual design in it. So…go for it, I say. Cheetahs, anyone???

IMO none of the ones shown Think kid and the room should be kid not something you want in an adult space I like a nice neutral wall color and then add the color of the year with bedding and other changeable items since kids change their minds about the fave color all the time . Ask your daughter what she likes in the bbedding to start . at 7 she will have an opinion about things .IMO this id her space and should reflect her likes not yours. As for the baby's space use the same idea nothing too grown up or too babyish since they grow quickly into having likes and dislikes.

I think for two kids sharing a room, the paper should be more fun and interesting, and kid oriented. It’s just one room, and wouldn’t be expensive to change later on.
