I would move to a completely flush fixture, this is going to

A. tuck it out of the way

B. illuminate more area without blasting light in the face

C. less risk of breakage

D. if you go warehouse shde it will force all the light down.

E. you could also go directional and get light on each door and down

F. Go bronze of black and it will just blend away.

Also have you thought about going to a dusk till dawn or motion light?

If you get a candle light style fixture, you might need three bulbs, but one LED with a high k value will brighten the area much more efficiently. I have a LED the automatically turns on at dusk and off at dawn, but it might not work with your deep porch. But you could get a timed switch.

my other thought, is to do a keyless socket, with edison bulb LED, put in a socket adapter with a plug in,

and hang garden string lights to both sides of the porch.

Thank you!
