Tree screen behind pool

last modified: 4 years ago

We are putting in a pool, and need to replace the couple trees along the back fence with something that does not shed leaves/sticks like crazy. Appreciate any tree recommendations? The goal is to provide privacy from the new house being built behind us....probably needs to provide that screen up to about 15 feet above the ground.

We like the current Sumac trees, as they fill in well most of the year, and provide great color in the fall....but so many leaves/sticks fall, that it will make for messy pool maintenance....and we can't simply cut out the branches that lean out over the pool (since the limbs that go straight up must be trimmed short by the electric company).

We are in Houston, TX (hardiness zone 9a). We are definitely in clay soil.

Appreciate any suggestions!
