We use one and love it. It can be programmed to start at anytime of the day, which is convenient.

My roomba has no problems with fringe (though the husband doesn’t like that they are a bit askew after) otherwise it is great. They are loud (like a vacuum) so we don’t run it if we are home.

We have a Roborock, it was around $1000 but worth every penny. It's amazing. Even with a weekly cleaning service, I have two large dogs who constantly shed so it's very useful. It also mops!

I have a Roborock S5 Max and run it about every 5 days on wood floors. It works very well for me, but I have a sparsely furnished home and no rugs. Take a look at your floor space and get an idea of where a robotic vac can and can't go. Some are better on carpet than others, so if you go for it, be sure to read reviews.

We love our Roomba and it does great on our hardwood and shortnapped area rugs. Our rugs are fringe free and thin so I don't know how well it would work on thicker rugs. We have a separate mopping irobot but I‘m not as crazy about that one because of the small cleaning pad.

I love my roomba! It does amazing on my hardwood floors and area rug. I have two sheddy bassets and it keeps up with them. The success depends on the layout of your house and furniture. You need to consider the potential area for getting stuck.
