Whoa-- I might try gray first as it goes with burgandy and black? Or Maybe paint the bottom a dark gray and the top a lighter gray?

I was also thinking pendant lights. I could probably easily replace the two canned lights above the bar with pendants.

I like the idea of trying a gray as well. Two toned gray might be nice. What about a backspash?

You already have the 4" counter backsplash so keep it simple- maybe a stainless steel subway tile

It is a bar so you could use many options as a backsplash. MIrrors, tin ceiling tiles, corks from wine bottles or wine labels.

Do you completely hate the blue? I like it except for the white strips that I would paint the same color. I like Margo's backsplash ideas for stainless, tin or antique mirror.

How about black on bottom of bar and gray on uppers! I like the idea of a mirror backsplash...very classic bar style!

The 2 cabinet doors that are kind of in the middle raised slightly higher....take both of those doors off completely and add glass shelves (or not) and put lighting inside. Display some fun colorful bar items....a bar sign, cool martini glasses, whatever strikes your fancy. That would make it look more like a bar instead of upper kitchen cabs to me! If not those 2 that are raised...do the ones on each side of the middle cabs.

I really beginning to like the two tone ideas. Are there any applications that I can overlay colors on my pictures to get an idea what it would look like. I do have photoshop but I'm not real good with it. Wondering if there is something easier these days?
