New Driveway Design

We bought a house in June. We have spent a lot of time fixing the curb appeal. We are far from done.

Our next prodject is to redo or have a brand new driveway in a diffrent location of the property.

A little about what we need out of the function of the driveway. It needs to be atleast two cars wide. I have clients dropping off and picking up their children throughout the day. We live on a busy road and do not want to encourage drivers to use our driveway as a turn around spot. Ideally we will be building a garge off the side of the house where the yard is.

The second photo is before we purchased the home but it shows the large yard to the lefthand side of the house.

The first photo shows some of the changes we have made.

Would you keep the driveway where it is? Move it? Change the shape? All ideas are welcome. I personally do not like the feel of the drivewqy deadending i to the sidewalk

It looks like you have enough room for a circular driveway at the front and then a side driveway and garage. A circular allows easy drop off access if you can fit one

Unless you know exactly where your lot lines are, have your property surveyed. Where we used to live our next door neighbors decided they wanted a circular driveway. They had the property surveyed and the lot line between us and them was not where we thought it was (the houses were 70 years old). Then you need to check with your locality to see if there are any restrictions on how close you can get to the lot line with a driveway. Once you have that info you are ready to think about the shape and where it goes. But since people are doing drop-offs and pick-ups, circular would certainly be a good idea. Good luck keeping people from using your driveway for a turnaround. If it's there, they're going to use it, especially if you're near a corner. :-)
