Before doing that, treat the space as though already a sunroom - oh wait, you said it is sunny! I guess you could furnish it with what's in your house, and experiment... some call it: shop from within your house -- do you have casual tablecloth, extra curtains, bold floral, an old wicker chair?

But do keep in mind that a bright sunny space will fade dark fabrics and rugs over time. Think about brining outdoor fabrics in, such as Sunbrella or other such products if going with bright and/or dark colored cushions or upholstery.

U can also cover the windows with uv film.

Only you can decide what you would do for those times when you want a dining room. Do you have other spaces for a large table, or might you want to make this room do double duty? If the latter, you might consider furniture that is easy to move aside or fold up for the sun room use and folding table and chairs for when you want a dining room. This certainly can be done, you just need to be sure that the sun room furniture isn't too big and heavy.

What do you want to do in the sunroom? Garden, read, entertain, play table games, watch TV, take naps?

I use solar shades in sunrooms since you still want to see out and I never likefilm since on a cludy day it is nice to open the shades. As for doing this what are you planning to do about the times when you need a dining table. In my experience sun rooms are often just too hot to enjoy so some AC is probably a good plan and lots of sun LOVING plants the rest is decided by how you will use the space .

Deb, now you know the “danger” of asking such an open question on this forum. If you don’t need a dining room, a sunny room can be a favorite for other activities. I envisioned a wicker chaise, a rocking chair or glider and a small sofa. @Beth H gave you so many visuals it’s hard to choose one, but having a quiet, sunny room sounds like heaven.

You could add a table small enough to play games on and then flexible enough to open up for dinner and enjoy the double the time!

If you do not occasionally host family events or entertain more than four guests at a time, you may not need a separate dining room. If you would enjoy a sunny sitting room and would use it regularly, go ahead and convert it! If there is a nice view, play it up. If you get direct sunlight shining into the room, you may need to filter the light with grass cloth shades or other window coverings to protect the floor and wood furniture. Use indoor-outdoor fabrics which will not fade in direct sunlight.
